Learn the basics behind how the American Election works. Topics include the electoral college, primaries, and election timeline with additional lessons on candidates, positions, and platforms in this year’s local and national elections.

Play and learn all about games before Atari! From card games to schoolyard games. From chess to charades. Each class focuses on different types of games throughout history and includes time to play.

Set up a document in Adobe Illustrator
Create a background layer using picture or color, and create a title or headline using digital fonts. This course is perfect for beginners who have their own software and would like to explore its potential.

Remember those parts of speech? Ever seen a sentence diagrammed? Learn the basics of grammar through art, music, and games. Using scavenger hunts, puzzles, and prizes, participants will learn more than they realize.

Learn the context and process for writing the college application essay. With opportunities for gaming, collaborating, and workshopping, students can arrive with nothing and complete their draft by the end of the course. Includes direct feedback by a certified teacher.

This class helps students arrange their final preparations before leaving for college. We review techniques for time management and stress management. We provide resources and answer questions that any first year college student might have.
Students who took a gap year may find it difficult to get back into a school routine. During the gap year support sessions, we help identify and improve the specific skills that will help you succeed in academia or the job market. Wednesday nights in August
This interactive workshop reviews the basics for financial planning. Participants learn how to set priorities, goals, and benchmarks. Review games and activities give students a chance to apply what they learned in a fun environment.
Adults need help with their writing too, and it can be difficult knowing who to trust online. Stop by during our open office hours for free help with whatever writing difficulty you are having.

A basic introduction to understanding personal finance. Learn the role that budgeting, saving, and investing can have on your future. Answer questions about credit and banking and learn how to set smart financial goals.
Five-day workshop with a different focus each day: compiling the application, writing the resume and the cover letter, and practicing an interview.
An overview of English grammar. Students will learn the parts of speech and the structure of a sentence. In addition to mechanics, students will learn how grammar is used to transform rhetoric.
This workshop explores a number of revision techniques used to improve writing. For students who know basic grammar, this course teaches students how to incorporate advanced grammar, develop a style, and apply revision strategies.
A workshop where students have the opportunity to craft a personal essay from beginning to end. Lessons and practice range from the brainstorming process, to revising, to the final editing.
Topics begin with the formation of written language and the alphabet. Lessons extend to Old, Middle, and Modern English including Grimm's Law and the Great Vowel Shift. The literature includes Chaucer, Beowulf, and excerpts throughout history.
Monsters, Mystery, and Madness. Understand what defines the gothic genre and how the literature captures the anxieties of the culture. Literary topics range from Dracula and Frankenstein to Batman and Harry Potter.
A workshop on the history, literature, and culture of the 19th century Victorian Age. Topics include the Industrial Revolution, the gothic genre, and conflicts governing science, philosophy, and religion.
It's not just comic books! Learn the art and rules behind reading a graphic novel, and how it modernizes literacy. Students will read and produce different genres of visual storytelling. Students do not need drawing skills to register.
An overview of American Literature. Lessons begin with Native American stories and the journals from early American explorers. Literary content then extends through the modern day, while highlighting major movements, genres, and texts.
