2025 Summer Options
Just Learning Ally Summer Camp Details
Each camp is a one-week interactive, educational experience for students between ages 12 and 16.
JLA believes play is an integral part of learning. The reduced stress environment combined with positive experiences allow students to retain more information.
Students practice real world social skills like collaboration, compromise, persistence, and teamwork. Using puzzles and challenges are a fun way for students to engage their mind. They build skills in critical thinking and problem-solving.
Much of the subject matter is academic in nature. Students are exposed to academic content through fun and by being encouraged to explore natural curiosities and personal interests.
Just Learning Ally 'camps' operate as educational summer programs, not as recreational camps.
Each program is limited to about eight participants.

STAFF
Derek is a certified English teacher for grades 5-12 and a local professor in composition. He is the founder of Just Learning Ally. More information here.
Kayla is a high school English teacher certified in English Language Arts and English as a Secondary Language. She holds a degree in English Literature and Language with a concentration in secondary education. She has taught in Massachusetts and Japan.

Learn how to write and design graphic novels. Create your own comics, and read and discuss your favorites. Discover the history of comics and graphic novels with fun games and prizes!
Topics include cartoons, comics, artists and authors, manga, each age of comics, modern novels and adaptations.

A week of puzzling adventures!
Games include Cluedo, Guess Who, 20 Questions, trivia, scavenger hunt, escape room puzzles, riddles, and mysteries.
Participants can make their own puzzles, write their own stories, and design their own escapes!

Feel like you are on a game show! Games include versions of 'Jeopardy,' 'Taskmaster,' 'Family Feud,' 'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader,' 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire', and 'Whose Line is it Anyway?'.
